Jamie to be Tintin

Hello everyone,

Fantastic news, Jamie Bell will be starring as Tintin, in the highly anticipated collobration work of Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson’s.

Source: ET Online
Principal production will start this month on directors Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson’s highly anticipated big-screen adaptation of the beloved comic-strip character Tintin — with two ‘Defiance’ co-stars reuniting for the proposed trilogy!

‘Billy Elliot’ and ‘Jumper’ star Jamie Bell is set to play the title character, with his ‘Defiance’ co-star/current 007 Daniel Craig set to portray the nefarious Red Rackham in ‘The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn,’ a 3D motion-capture film directed by Spielberg and produced by Jackson, due for release in 2011. Jackson will direct the second Tintin installment, produced by Spielberg, with a third film also in development.

Belgian artist Georges Remi’s (writing under his pen name “Herge”) created the roving junior reporter, who often finds himself in jeopardy in search of a good story. With his trusty dog Snowy by his side, Tintin’s adventures have taken him to far-off locations around the globe, tangling with smugglers, crime lords, grave robbers and jewel thieves. The Adventures of Tintin first debuted in 1929, with a series of 23 books published through 1976 selling more than 200 million copies worldwide.

Excited anyone!?

Movies Online Interview with Jamie

Hello everyone,

Thanks to Philip for linking me up with another fantastic interview of Jamie in regards to his role in Defiance.

MoviesOnline sat down to talk with Jamie Bell at the Los Angeles press day for his new movie, “Defiance,” directed by Ed Zwick from a screenplay by Zwick and Clay Frohman, based on Nechama Tec’s non-fiction book of the same name.

The young English actor burst onto the scene with his tour de force performance in the title role of “Billy Elliot,” for which he won the Best Actor award at the BAFTAs and the Best Newcomer Award for the British Film Independent Awards. He went on to join an all-star cast in Douglas McGrath’s “Nicholas Nickleby.” He then played lead roles in David Gordon Green’s “Undertow” opposite Dermot Mulroney and Josh Lucas and award winning director Thomas Vinterberg’s “Dear Wendy.” He also starred in “Chumbscrubber” opposite Ralph Fiennes and Glenn Close and then went on to Peter Jackson’s “King Kong.” Bell next worked with Clint Eastwood on “Flags of Our Fathers” and, most recently, he appeared in the quirky indie, “Hallam Foe,” for David Mckenzie and the sci-fi thriller “Jumper,” for director Doug Liman.

Other than that, I am finally home and back in Australia, so expect a new layout! Also, happy new year everyone!

Sunday Sun Interview

Hello visitors,

Big thanks to Philip for linking me up with an interesting article by Sunday Sun, about Jamie and his bond (pardon the pun) with Daniel Craig!

Source: Sunday Sun

North star bonds with 007 co-star
ACTOR Jamie Bell has told how he has the coolest brother in the world . . . James Bond star Daniel Craig.

But sadly for the North movie star, he and 007 are only on-screen siblings in his latest movie Defiance.

The two star in the war drama, based on the true story of the Jewish Bielski brothers who formed a resistance group during World War Two, dedicated to saving Jewish lives.

It took three months to shoot the film in Lithuania, where the 22-year-old, from Billingham, Teesside, said he had a fantastic bonding experience with Craig and his other film brother Liev Schreiber. He said: “I grew up with my mother and sister, so I’m not used to a very masculine environment. “That was one of the draws of the film . . . having brothers for three months.

Jamie is NOT in “A Single Man”

Hello everyone,

Last month I posted that Jamie Bell was considered for a role in Tom Ford’s film production A Single Man. A couple days ago, the same source that informed me of Jamie’s attachment to the film has confirmed that Jamie will not be in the production.

Source: E! Online
Tom Ford is finally going public with his movie plans.

As I was the first to tell you last month, the fashion prince will make his directorial debut with a movie adaptation of Christopher Isherwood’s 1964 novel, A Single Man.

I’m now told that Ford will release an official announcement tomorrow.

Colin Firth will star as a gay college professor who is dealing with the death of his longtime lover. Julianne Moore costars as a lifelong friend of the professor’s.

While early talk was Jamie Bell would play one of his students, it turns that role has gone to Matthew Goode.

The story takes place in 1962 in Los Angeles. Filming will begin in L.A. on Nov. 3.

Ford spoke publicly about wanting to get behind the camera when he left Gucci in 2004. He acquired movie right’s to A Single Man about a year ago.

He also started his own men’s fashion line last year with stores in New York, Las Vegas, Dubai, Los Angles and Moscow, among many others.

Number 8 at The Movie Fanatic!

Hello everyone,

Thanks to Eva for linking me up with this piece of information. The Movie Fanatic has recently launched its Top 50 Hottest Young Actors, and the talented Jamie Bell‘s position is number 8! He has moved up five places from last years list.

Why he made the top 50: For obvious reasons, tMF considers Jamie Bell as one of today’s most exciting and talented young actors. Even in his recent movie Jumper, where he played second lead to the less talented and boring Hayden Christensen, he went on to win critical acclaim.
