Spielberg’s “Tintin” to unspool in late 2011!
Hello loyal visitors,
Warm thanks to my good friend Philip for sending me information about the release of Jamie’s new film, Tintin!
Steven Spielberg’s “The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn” will arrive in U.S. theaters just before Christmas of 2011.
Paramount Pictures and Sony Pictures have scheduled the family feature for a December 23, 2011, domestic release through Paramount.
An international rollout will begin weeks earlier, in late October, with Sony Pictures Releasing International handling continental Europe, Latin America and India, and Paramount distributing the film in Asia, Australia, the United Kingdom and all other English-speaking territories.

And lastly, wanted to thank everyone for their kind comments about the new layout. Enjoy the weekend!

Empire Spill Tintin Beans Galore
G’day visitors,
As always, thanks to the wonderful Phil for linking me up with this article!
The much lauded 20th Anniversary issue of Empire is out now and on shelves across the UK. The Oxford Cornmarket St. branch of WH Smith has definitely sold at least one copy already. I’m sat here with it now, and am quite taken aback by how brilliant it truly is. Really, this is Empire at its best. This is the Empire we want month in, month out. They’ve delivered the ideal version of a magazine devised to cover studio and mainstream fare in an exciting and accessible way and mainly they’ve done that by stuffing it full of exclusives. Buy one. You know you want to.
A lot of the best stuff comes in a feature on Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson’s Tintin film or, rather, films. Amongst other things, the magazine confirms that the second film is not only funded, but in pre-production already. Jackson’s quote on that – and lots more – after the break.

A huge thank you to Philip and Eva for keeping me updated on this! Empire Online has recently released a photo of Jamie Bell and Andy Sirkis working on motion capture with director Stephen Spielberg for Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn!
Also, sorry for the lack of updates and reply to e-mails! I have been so awfully busy as of late. Other than that, thank you for visiting!

Video salute by Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson
Edit (22-Mar-09): You can watch the video by – clicking here!
G’day everyone,
This update is more of Tintin related than it is of Jamie, but with that said, it’s very interesting nonetheless! And as always, thanks to Phil for the heads up!
“At the Angoulême BD festival – France 2009 ( Bande Dessinée festival = Comic Strip Festival ) there was a Tintin-presentation by Nick Rodwell, governor of the Hergé estate. After his presentation Mr Rodwell surprised the public with a personal video salute by Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson dressed as Thomson and Thompson.” – Phil

Spielberg and Jackson’s “Tintin” is go!
G’day visitors,
Thanks to Philip for informing us that the “shooting on the first movie, The Secret of the Unicorn, has been completed”.
Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson are hard at work on their mammoth ‘Tintin’ trilogy
We’ve known for a while that a trilogy of Tintin movies was on its way: the first to be directed by Steven Spielberg, the second by Peter Jackson, and the third by an as-yet-unnamed lucky winner.
We were surprised, however, to learn this week that shooting on the first movie, ‘The Secret of the Unicorn’, has been completed. Spielberg and crew just wrapped an under-the-radar 32-day run of performance capture sessions with the principal cast, which includes Jamie Bell as our plucky, bequiffed hero and Daniel Craig as his nemesis Red Rackham. Rounding out the cast are motion capture stalwart Andy Serkis as seafaring boozehound Captain Haddock, Simon Pegg and Nick Frost as the bumbling Thompson twins and the ubiquitous Mackenzie Crook as an unnamed, but surely villainous sidekick type character. There’s no word yet on how much of the actors’ physical performances will remain in the finished film: Pegg and Frost, for example, are playing identical twins, which is going to require a fair amount of digital trickery.
